SUPPORT THE BEARS REPRESENTING AUSTRALIA - THIS WEEKEND !!!!!!
As mentioned previously our Club players Sarah LOWE and Bec LARECKI have now just finished competing in
Germany in the Under 19 women’s world championships. The Aussie team made it through to the GOLD MEDAL play off
against USA, and played their hearts out from all reports – but unfortunately went down 14 to 11. It was a great effort
considering USA had defeated Australia 20 to 7 in the preliminary match. Australia had beaten Canada to get to the Gold
Medal game less than 24 hours before, after bad weather delayed the game against Canada by 5 hours. So with not a
huge recovery time (!!), the brief report on the Gold Medal game (via Jane Lowe – thanks Jane) was “It was a terrific
game, and we had them really worried after getting off to  a great start, up 3-1.  It was 7 all at half-time, but sadly a
couple of errors in the second half let them take control.  Our girls fought back well though, and were never really out of
the game”
